What an incredible job you did, Chad, and what a wonderful 'co-pilot' you had in Charlie. I'm sure Maddie was a big plus, as well, and had the time of her life! Can't remember if I've typed on the Guest Book since you finished, but, nonetheless, ... the biggest CONGRATS ever! You DID it!!! What a phenomenal feat. You will never ever ever forget your awesome experience and fantastic memories of your 4 months of your cross-country journey and the amazing time spent with your dad. We wish you everything wonderful as you begin your next journey. You have proven that you can accomplish anything to which you set your mind. Enjoy basking in the glory of your gigantic accomplishment for a while. We are most proud of you and love you.

Anyways, I just want to congradulate you on your huge accomplishment. You father is a real proud man, I can tell since we stayed up until 4-5 am speaking about your journey. Just thought I drop in to show support, and we were glad to welcome you. Take care, and best wishes. -Arturo

Hi Chad, Congratulations on completing your mission. How long did it take you to train for this run and how many pounds did you loose? I have enjoyed reading you blog and will be missing them. Your Mom and Dad are pretty incredible people whom I have known since High School. What a special bonding you and your Dad have.

Bunie and Evelyn said:   July 30th, 2013 11:33 pm

Chad, Charlie &. Maddie! Congratulations doesn't quite say it.....what an accomplishment! You all have been in our thoughts and prayers from the very beginning of your "INCREDIBLE JOURNEY!" God bless you all on your trip back home. (Hppe Bunie's map helps with Charlie's "bucket list.").

Hi Chad, Enjoy reading each and every one of your blog entries. You have had some unbelievable experiences. We're happy for you that you are beginning to get close to the end of Texas! That is an unbelievable accomplishment - as is your whole journey. You tell your dad that he better get that exhaust leak fixed somehow, as Tommy said that could do him/you in! That's scary that he is falling asleep! Do try to stay safe, and, again, CONGRATS on your absolutely phenomenal accomplishment. It is so interesting to hear about all of the interesting people you have met along the way. You all really need to do a book! Do hope the red ants are gone and that you don't have any more major probs! TAKE CARE and continued 'Bonne Chance'. Love, Marilyn & Tom

Chad and Charlie: I saw Susan and Ryan earlier today and they brought me up to date on your progress - half way across Louisiana already! That's great progress for a great cause. Chad, a suggestion or two from an old runner - Good shoes all the time and a day off each week to rest the body, legs and all. Also, listen to your body, it will tell you when you are pressing too hard. When it says rest, do it. Charlie, I will see that the Clarksburg Lions get periodic reports on your progress. Jim

Colton Lee said:   May 8th, 2013 8:09 am

Chad you are doing great! It is amazing you can run so many miles in a day but it is a long way to California. Slow down a little, remember the turtle wins the race slow and steady. In the big picture, it doesn't matter if you take an extra month or two.

Karen Staton said:   May 5th, 2013 7:11 pm

Hey Chad, I had the privilege of seeing your mom today and she is as beautiful as always. I wanted to let you know how very proud I am of you and that I think you are courageous for taking on this journey. You mentioned in your blog about it being a "coincidence" that you are meeting so many nice people who are affected by mental illness - well, I don't think it is a coincidence at all. I believe that you cross paths so you can be strengthened by them and so they can be encouraged by you. You are and will continue to make a difference for your cause. Treasure this journey and the time with your Dad. Please keep up the posts - I look for them every evening! Take care!

Even though I talk to you or your Dad each night, I wanted to tell you how much your Run Across America for Mental Health Awareness is meaning to so many people. There is never a day that goes by that people don't stop and ask me how you are doing and how grateful they are that you are running for such an important cause. It is so humbling that so many friends and family are supporting you through this run by words of encouragement and financial donations. You are doing an amazing job! Keep running Forest!,

Chad, this is an incredible undertaking! I am so proud of you.....yet a wee bit fearful. From talking with someone we know who has participated in "Iron Man" and Marathon runs, the big concern on runs this long would be "stress fractures". It is his feeling that you should limit distances to 15 miles per day. Give it some thought. The month of April was an incredibly busy month for us, I'll try to do a better job of keeping up with you from now on. Best wishes, and lots of love to you, your dad, and the pup~ :-)

Hi Chad, I am a teacher/interventionist at Norwood School. I enjoyed talking to your mother this week about your adventures. I do admire your courage for traveling across the country for the cause of mental health. I know your trip will be a great success. I am sure the memories of this endeavor will be treasured for a lifetime. Keep on tracking your way to your goal.

Hi Chad, I have never met you, but I know your mom. She subbed at Norwood Elementary on Monday and Tuesday. That is where I work and I was asking her how it was going with your adventure. She told me about this site and said if I had a chance to say "hi". Wanted to also say good luck and god bless you. What a wonderful thing you are doing. Keep up the good work.

Hey Chad! Hang in there! Give that right leg a break for a while and focus on California. Remember, I am a real doctor, so you have to follow my orders. Did I ever tell you that I am an Ob/Gyn? :) I also forgot to wish you a happy birthday, so happy belated. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Chad! I'm a forever friend of Tom Coffey - in fact, we have loved each other since we were about 4 years old. He mentioned you to me and gave me your info. What an awesome journey you are on! I'll also be following your trip and wish you good health and safety along the way.

First of all..Belated Happy Birthday, Chad. You'll never forget this one!! Seems like you're meeting some nice people in FL and Maddie looks like she's "Queen of the Road". So glad all is going well..you certainly are dedicated and it's unbelieveable the amount of miles you have put behind you. We love reading your daily blog..

Tom Coffey said:   April 19th, 2013 2:07 pm

It was an inspiration to meet you Chad. The cyclists from San Diago as well. It never would have happened if I wasn't nearly out of fuel and on the back roads in search of a gas station. Just shows how much we miss in life when we are in the fast lane. Meeting the guys from California riding their bikes to Jacksonville, and you, running from Jacksonville to San Diego, coincidently at the same gas station at the same time... renews my commitment to do the Miami Iron Man in October. Thanks and good luck

Hello Chad, it was a pleasure meeting your father today! When he told me what you were doing I said "WHAAAT"? I admire your courage and trust that you will remain physically, mentally, and spiritually sustained. And what amazing selfless loving parents you have willing to safeguard you on your journey! BTW as I was processing some paperwork for your father today he fell asleep on me (sitting upright in chair) and although I didn't actually see him sleeping, I heard him. So I had to ask him "Did you just fall asleep?"..... he confessed :) May God bless and protect you and your family as you endeavor to run across the nation!
